Postdoctoral Scholar in Immunological Responses to Arthritogenic Alphaviruses
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our research team. In this role, you will join our NIH-funded project investigating immune responses to a chikungunya virus vaccine, including protection against chikungunya virus and cross-protection against Mayaro virus.
This position requires hands-on immunology and virology methods. Ideally, the candidate is a recent PhD graduate (within 0-2 years of completion) who aims to lead high-impact translational projects, publish high-impact articles, and transition toward research independence (e.g., NIH K-series).
In this role, you will:
- Design, perform, and optimize in vitro and in vivo studies related to virology and immunology
- Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data using appropriate statistical and computational approaches
- Work independently and contribute to advancing ongoing research projects
You are a great fit if you have:
- PhD, or equivalent degree in virology, microbiology, immunology, or a related discipline
- Experience with flow cytometry, cell sorting, and single-cell sequencing
- Experience with cell culture, plaque assays, and neutralization assays
- Demonstrated hands-on competence in mouse models (handling, viral infection, and necropsy)
- Solid foundation in experimental design and statistical models for analyzing biological data
